Kristina Anderson, concertmaster & violinist |
Kristina Anderson began her violin studies at the Peabody Conservatory of Music with Berl Senofsky. She continued study with Jascha Brodsky at the New School of Music in Philadelphia, studied with Fritz Siegel, concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony and with Aaron Rosand at the Academie d' Arte in France.
Ms. Anderson began her orchestral career in the first violin section of the New Orleans Philharmonic. She subsequently became concertmaster of the Colorado Springs and Charlotte Symphonies. Kristina has performed internationally as a tenured member of the New York City Opera National Company Orchestra, as the leader of her string quartet, and has performed as soloist with the Diablo and Livermore Symphony Orchestras.
Ms. Anderson has been concertmaster of the West Bay Opera Orchestra in Palo Alto for 18 seasons, and concertmaster of the Diablo Symphony for 12 seasons. She begins her 10th season as the concertmaster of the Santa Cruz County Symphony in 2008/09. She resides in Ben Lomond and is active in local music education through the Symphony’s Youth & Family program, the Youth Symphony and private teaching.
